We have a large selection of relays to choose from; Chint, Relpol and Omron. Relays are electrically operated switches used to control a circuit. There are many different relays such as electromechanical relays, solid state relays, safety relays and programmable relays. A relay is different to a contactor as it is used to switch smaller loads and is not generally connected directly to the load. A relay ranges from a couple of amps up to about 15 amps (for loads above this a contactor should be used). We will help you find the best relay to suit your requirements.

For heavy duty applications such as motor control, a contactor will be required - look no further than the Chint NC1 range of contactor which is suitable for loads between 9 amps and 95 amps AC3. For higher loads, the Chint NC2 range of contactor is suitable for loads between 115 amps and 630 amps AC3 or up to 800 amps AC1.  Both the NC1 and NC2 range of contactor are available in 3 and 4 pole with a wide range of coil voltages to choose from. Any Chint contactor can be used as a motor starter in configurations such as direct on line, reversing starter or star delta starter when used with the appropriate contactor accessory.

If you are looking for a circuit breaker, we offer an array of Chint circuit breaker options. A circuit breaker is basically an electrical switch which protects a circuit from an overload. What a Chint circuit breaker does is disconnects the electrical flow when a fault or overload occurs. A Chint circuit breaker can be used in a variety of applications from a domestic consumer unit to an industrial control panel. A circuit breaker is better than a fuse as it can be reset by a simple flick of a switch. Without a circuit breaker, overloads can occur which can cause damage to electrical equipment, electrical shocks and fires. As an additional safety feature, a Residual Circuit Device (RCD) is recommended; an RCD will respond immediately to a fault – quicker than a miniature a circuit breaker.

When it comes to installing a Chint contactor, relay or circuit breaker, each will need to be mounted in some form of enclosure. A complete range of both plastic and metal enclosures are currently in stock. There are a range of metal enclosure options available from Chint and Himel; a variety of different sizes are available. Each metal enclosure is made from mild steel and comes with a mounting plate. The metal enclosure is grey powder coated to RAL7032 for Chint and RAL7035 for Himel. The metal enclosure door and bottom gland plate are removable. There’s a metal enclosure to meet all specifications.
